Humber Quay Hull

The proposal creates a pair of new urban spaces which are linked through landscape. The Humber Quay West site becomes a generous open park, which builds on the sites existing assets in terms of urban greening and strengthens the existing Trans-Pennine trail leading to and from Hull city centre. The aim with this site is to create a series of blocks, with 100% dual-aspect homes, every single one with a view of the river. These dramatically exceed national and local housing standards and set a benchmark for high quality living by the Humber. The residential blocks allow for a variety of uses through a flexible ground floor which could accommodate small prefabricated units brought to site via the adjacent docks. All parking is accommodated in the ground floor of the blocks or at grade directly adjacent to each block, avoiding large areas of hard surfacing. The promenade activates this section of river frontage, linking this under-used site with wider cultural destinations in the city
